Ashley Ainsworth  •  Artist

Ashley Ainsworth has been painting for over 20 years. She has studied with The Guild in New Jersey, Yale with their Summer Exploration Program, a Florentine atelier, and Boston College. Ainsworth graduated BC in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She minored in Art History.

Ainsworth’s works are concerned with lineage and memory. She creates pieces with vanitas and memento mori work in mind. The objects representative of late friends relatives and public figures’ lives make us consider their legacy as well as our own. There are as many reactions and feelings to each work as there are people. Her depiction of fragile objects and pottery is symbolic of the importance and onus we have to preserve family histories and stories. Ainsworth wants her work to add to the discussion in America about how children are taught their own family history within the larger landscape of our nation’s.

An active and productive artist in the south coast of New England, she is a regular participant in exhibits and group shows.  Ainsworth works out of her home studio in Tiverton Rhode Island, where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
